DATE2020
SITE:
Jewel City, 254 Fox St, City and Suburban, Johannesburg

ARTIST STATEMENT:
"My work captures the life of African aesthetics and celebrates the diversity of our cultures and identities as Africans. The art highlights the pride of our people and documenting our history and heritage to preserve our way of being and where we come from.
"

The concept of this artwork is to tell a story about a young girl who moves through the city and interacts with her culture.

In her journey she finds various symbols that capture the essence of culture in that environment. She takes these with her and wears them with pride until finding her way back home.
